Easy Peasy Morning Skincare Routine

Hello friends!

I’m here with a skincare / beauty post for you today. Skincare has always been such a hassle for me, because I’ve suffered from eczema ever since I can remember. Although, as of recently, I have settled on a morning skincare routine that has been doing wonders for my face. My skin is a lot more clear, I don’t break out as much, and my eczema hasn’t flared up in ages. Here are some of my favorite products.

1. Clarisonic Mia 1

Okay, I know this is a gadget and not a product, but this little thing has changed my life. I know that sounds so dramatic but to be honest with you, I’ve never really known what clean skin feels like. The first time I used it I was like “oh my god, I’ve lived with dirt on my face for 22 years”. But dirt no more, as this thing vibrates and buzzes, and gets in your pores all while being super gentle. It is fairly pricy, but there’s a little bundle on the Sephora website for $99.

Side note: I am currently using the Clarisonic Gel Cleanser that comes in the Sephora bundle, and I am really enjoying it.

2. Clinique “All about eyes” eye cream

I love this whole ultra-hydrating range. Again, because of my eczema i need something that is very hydrating, but is also light enough to let my skin breathe. This is a win all around, and I have probably repurchased it three times already.

3. Origins GinZing Moisturizer

This is by far my favorite moisturizer, especially for the summer. It’s loaded with caffeine and it smells like oranges. I love that it’s hydrating but doesn’t leave my skin feeling tacky, and again, it’s hydrating but also very light. This is a holy grail summertime moisturizer in my book and I have been repurchasing it ever summer for the last three years!

And last but not least, I made a quick little video about how all of this goes down.

Till next time,

Easy everyday makeup routine

Somehow this video never made it to my blog. In any case, this is still my go-to summer routine. So easy.

Let me know what you think!

Warning: This is not a beauty tutorial.
This my mind with all of its artistic freedom on the loose.
Take this video as you may.

(Oh but if you’re actually curious, this is a project I did for my video art class. It’s a little out there, so watch it at your own risk. I would love to hear any feedback in the comments!)

We’ll be back to “normal” blog posts shortly.

Until then,

Halloween, make up, and friends, OH MY!

I always dread Halloween because I’m really opposed to buying clothing that I’m only going to wear once – so purchasing costumes has always been out of the question. But this Halloween I kind of decided to allow myself to go crazy with make up. I had two nights of Halloween to deal with (*sigh*, college), and for the first night I decided to be a (variation of a) zombie.
I didn’t have any fake blood or anything of the sort so I had to be creative at the last minute. This is how it turned out:

Basically I used very light foundation on my face mixed with some white face paint, and sunk in my eyes with the use of red / purple and orange eyeshadows. As for the scar, I seriously just made it up. Tissue paper, glue, lotion, lipstick, lip liner, shadows and a blow dryer. I’m pretty pleased with the results.

For the second night, my friends and I decided to go as the cast of Wizard of Oz. I got to be the cowardly lion which gave me so much freedom in terms of hair and make up. I crimped my hair by making little braids and pressing then with a hot straightener which really gave it a lion effect. As for the make up, I think I might do a little video tutorial for you guys. It was easy and fun to do!

And of course, here’s the whole gang!

What did you do for Halloween? Let me know in the comments!
